YOANY GUIA, MD

Status:  Dr. Guia is accepting new patients including Gynecology exams. She is available Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

About me:   Dr. Guia is a General Practitioner with an expertise in Family Care, Preventive Care and Emergency Care. She earned her medical degree from University of Havana school of Medicine with honors in 1999. Dr. Guia practiced medicine in Cuba for several years as a Family Care Physician.

She completed her training at “ Auxilio Mutuo” Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she practiced as an emergency room Physician.

Dr. Guia is energetic and passionate about medical care, she speaks fluent English and Spanish.

She is very excited to be part of West Marion Family Practice since April 2017 and is proud to work with such a fantastic team.

Personal interest:  Dr. Guia enjoys traveling, reading and spending time outdoors with her family.

About me: I relocated to Puerto Rico as a Generalist physician assisting geriatric patients in different towns south of the island. During my childhood I witnessed the health issues that my country suffered and realized that I had a passion for medicine. I am Vice president of ACODOSAH SALESIENS an organization that is committed to supplying food, offering educational talks on health and preventive medicine to the people in Haiti that are most in need. My professional interest has been to provide medical service to everyone equally. I am a strong advocate of leading a healthy life.

Roberto Alvarez Garcia, ARNP

I graduated from Universidad de La Habana Medical School in 1992 and practiced as a Medical Doctor until 1995.

In 1995 I moved to Guayaquil Ecuador where I specialized in Family Medicine until 2007.

2016 I graduated as a Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University in Illinois and practiced medicine in Palmetto Hospital, Coral Gables Hospital and Westchester Hospital.

2019 I joined a Neurological group where I worked part time and continued practicing Family Medicine.

About me: I am fluent in Spanish and English and love to spend time with family and friends.

Personal Interest: I love fishing, farming, cooking and spending time with my family.

Philosophy: Is to always put my patient's health interest first.
